Let's Catch Up: February Recap
February’s content creator meet up was at Prefer this month!
LIFE UPDATES
It’s cookie season for the Girl Scouts. If you haven’t found a Girl Scout to support already, London would love for you to help her reach her goal! (Our troops only do online orders, no pick up or delivery options available.)
Millie graduated her first year of 유치원 (yuchiwon) which is Korean Kindergarten. With 2 years of Korean daycare and a year of yuchiwon under her belt, I’m feeling a little sad that she’ll be starting American kindergarten later this year. London’s time in the Korean school system was only a year long but I love that they both were able to have this experience. I also cannot believe that my covid baby is about to be 5!
I finally caved and bought a new dining table. Our old one has been repurposed as a game table in the living room! Now, I’m on the lookout for small, family-friendly games suitable for both a 4-year-old (almost 5) and a 10-year-old. So far, we’ve added a tiny fishing game and mini Connect 4 to the mix. Can anyone recommend other games? Bonus if it’s aesthetically pleasing so it can act as decor, but not necessary.
THINGS I LOVED THIS MONTH
February favorite things
Favorite Audible this month: Say No More by Caroline Overington. At first I thought it was a little slow but I was intrigued by the story telling. Listening to this book felt reminiscent of tuning into a podcast circa 2015, where each episode slowly unveils more context and background to enrich the story. In the same way, each chapter of this book gradually reveals more of the lives Maureen and her younger sister Audrey leading up to and as adults. There’s a twist near the very end that almost took me completely by surprise. I actually gasped out loud just a second before it was revealed because I had a sudden realization of what was about to happen. If you told me this was based on real life events, I’d believe you. This book is only available from Audible and was just recently released. Grab it now!
I’ve been living in these comfortable pajamas almost every night. I bought the khaki set in a medium, but for a more oversized fit, I recommend sizing up. The shorts are a great length—not too short—and the material is high-quality, thick but breathable. These pajamas are perfect for lounging, but I also can’t wait to style them with a vest and tennis shoes when the weather warms up. (I really like this brand for pajamas and I’ve purchased several of this satin set in the past.)
Brandon bought me bicycle handlebar gloves from and they are the best thing ever. I can keep my body warm, but no matter what gloves I wore, my fingertips would always get cold on my bike rides. Even in 20-degree weather, I can ride gloveless now! It’s such a simple luxury and even though they look ridiculous, I love it.
I’ve been using the Medipeel Phyto Cica-Nol B5 Wrapping Mask every other night. Despite being a bit sticky, it has a fresh grapefruit scent and leaves my skin feeling radiant and refreshed. I’ve been following up with hyaluronic acid and moisturizer for extra hydration. If you're in Korea, be sure to grab a box of 4 from Daiso. If you find it somewhere else online, let me know in the comments!
While I was waiting for an order at IKEA last week I walked through the food section and spotted this gooey chocolate cake. I’m going back this week to buy the entire stock, it’s 1000% worth the trip to IKEA.
FEBRUARY BUMMERS
After a loooooong January, this month flew by! The two Audible books that didn't quite make the cut were Denali (which I feel didn’t justify its production cost) and Looking for Eden, which didn’t live up to my expectations from Caroline Overington. However, overall, February was a month of cozy finds, fun meetups with new friends, and sweet treats.
That’s a wrap for February! Hope you had a great February and spring is on its way to you!
