How To Style The "Quiet Luxury" Trend

How To Style The "Quiet Luxury" Trend

You’ve probably heard the term “quiet luxury” being thrown around social media the past few months, but what exactly is quiet luxury? Luxe materials. Muted tones. Well tailored. Chic understated pieces. Elevated but effortless. In short, neutral basics, but better, with a lack of logos, that will still be classics for years to come.

Just because the term has luxury in it, doesn’t mean that you can’t find affordable pieces to add to your wardrobe. You probably even have pieces in your wardrobe! A capsule wardrobe of quiet luxury looks like button down shirts, trousers/trouser shorts, non-distressed ankle length jeans, ballet flats, simple sandals and thin belts. Stick to colors like khaki, white, black and navy. Throw in some yummy fabrics like silk and linen, croc-embossing and your favorite jewelry and you have a winning combination.

Outfit: white button down thrifted, Zara shorts, clutch via Amazon (no longer available), Chanel inspired two tone shoes (similar here)

Brands like The Row and MaxMara are synonymous with quiet luxury, but there are plenty of more affordable brands. JW Pei and Polene have great understated bags right now. I currently love Zara’s trouser shorts and silk-look pants, especially paired with my favorite H&M ribbed tank. Other affordable brands to shop include J. Crew, Mango, and Steve Madden for shoes.

Here are a few outfit inspiration pieces I found on Pinterest.

Here are a few affordable pieces from Amazon.

This tank is similar to my favorite H&M one that I cannot find online. I love the cut-in neckline. A reversible black and tan belt that you can wear with nearly any outfit. I love the shape of the Louis Vuitton loop hobo bag and I’ve bought two more affordable bags instead. This croc-embossed JW Pei one looks incredibly luxurious. I am obsessed with these greek sandals this year. The rope detail is so pretty. These white shorts are very similar to my Zara ones. Throw a button down shirt, unbuttoned, on top of the tank and all of these pieces make one easy outfit.

Keep in mind that just because something is trending doesn’t mean you have to love it! You can love aspects quiet luxury aesthetic and love a logo bag. Don’t let anyone tell you that your style has to be one way or another.
