Seoul Fashion Week at DDP 동대문디자인플라자
I was scrolling Instagram around midnight on a Sunday and saw a local blogger talking about the upcoming Seoul Fashion Week happening THAT WEEK. I politely waited until the morning before I texted my friend asking if she wanted to try and check it out with me even though I was dying to text her after midnight.
Seoul Fashion Week took place at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP 동대문디자인플라자) which was designed by Zaha Hadid and has a really cool neofuturistic look to it. It includes a walkable park on top of the plaza and incorporates parts of the restored Seoul Fortress Wall. I love that Korea builds around the fortresses and walls, rather than demolishing them, it adds so much character.
We were able to catch one outdoor show as well as the indoor wholesale market (oh heyyyy past life) but so much of the fun was watching the artistic crowd show up and show off their outfits for the day.
All in all, it was such a fun experience and hopefully one day we’ll be invited and not party crashers!
