Thrift Haul: How I Styled It
Last weekend I had a chance to sneak away and do some shopping alone. If you know me, you know one of my favorite things is thrift shopping in Korea. The prices are so insanely good and budget friendly. I would definitely still label myself a clothes hoarder but over the past few years I’ve become more conscious about the pieces I add to my closet. I usually have a mental idea of things I would like to add and how I would like to style them. If thrifting is a planned event then I’ll wear something I’m trying to find matches for. This week I wore my beige Zara loafers in hopes of finding sweaters to match them and I did not leave empty handed. You can check my Instagram for a quick reel on everything I thrifted and to see how they move on the body in real life!
I love this striped wool sweater. It flares at the hem which is super flattering on my hips. I styled it with black joggers and boots for coffee with a friend. I dressed it up 3 ways with leggings to wear it throughout the year. This is how I wear it for school drop offs and coffee runs in the morning.
I love this fun stripe sweater! It feels very collegiate and I would totally wear it styled either way to a high school or college football game, if I went to things that like. 😉 It is SO soft and perfectly just-so oversized. I also paired it with ankle jeggings and loafers for a day around Seoul.
When thrifting I always look at the button downs and this The Row piece was such a score. I personally love this color because I can style it with black, brown or denim, gold and rose gold accessories, and even in the summer with white denim. A button down blouse with jeans is such an easy, classic outfit and so buildable. I could throw a vest over it, pair it with a handbag that has a fun crossbody strap, or jazz it up with loud jewelry. There are endless options and these are just 3 easy examples.
I was so excited for this denim dress as I’ve recently pinned one on Pinterest and had it in the back of my mind but it was the hardest to style for me. I was definitely overthinking it. I think the key with this dress is how to accessorize it because I wore it with a cream sweater, trench coat and a door crossbody bag in Seoul and the bag really helped pulled the outfit together. That is probably why I love it with the blazer so much, too!
This sweater dress is what dreams are made of. It is thick but not heavy so it won’t lose its shape and it won’t become see through. The ruffle details on the wrist are so sweet! If I wanted to pair this with a coat, I would belt the dress for some pizazz - a snakeskin belt or a gold logo buckle would be the perfect pop to pull the eye in and elevate the look. This length is also so good for errands and running around after children because I won’t be pulling it up or down constantly.
Best purchase: The Row Sisea silk blouse NEW WITH TAGS (retail $1,050 at the time) for 20,000₩.
Most expensive: The Row blouse and the Couronne handbag were each 20,000₩
Least expensive: a long, black, hooded puffer coat for my 2 year old for 5,000₩
This whole haul cost me 95,000₩ and I was excited to bring home a winter coat for each of my girls. Do you want to see more thrift hauls and how I style them? Let me know in the comments!
